I use a standard hot platen heat press will the Sublideck allow me to produce the same products that I currently make?
You will certainly be able to decorate the same products and many more, such as shallow curved parts and parts that are not flat
What is the temperature range of the Sublideck?
Sublideck can be set to operate at any temperature up to 210c and will maintain a temperature of + or - 1 degree during the transfer cycle
What is the timing range of the press?
Different products take different times we can provide a list for guidance but in general you should see a decrease in the time it takes to press products of about 15% due to the thermal efficiency of the temperature control system
If the Sublideck has a flexible pressing membrane, does this mean I can sublimate onto products that are not perfectly flat?
Of course, this is the big advantage of using this new sublimation technology. Plates, trays, shallow curved components can all be sublimated with the Sublideck
I have a product that sublimates well but tends to warp after removing it from the heat press how does the Sublideck machine handle this?
All Sublideck presses can be pre programmed (by the operator) with a heat up and cool down cycle that actually locks the product in place after pressing while running a cooling cycle which alleviates warpage of products
Looking at the specification for the Sublideck, do I need any special electrical wiring done to connect the machine?
Yes! The powerful Infrared Heater requires a 30 amp electricity supply such as you would fit for a domestic oven.
Do you have any online videos showing the Sublideck in operation and various products being sublimated?
Yes there are various videos on this site
Can I place multiple products on the press like I do on my heat press?
Absolutely! You can place multiple coasters on the press even if they are different thickness
Do I need to buy a compressor for the Sublideck?
Not at all! The Sublideck machines uses a powerful yet quiet internal vacuum pumps to produce a uniform force from the atmospheric pressure
What kind of warranty/guarantee comes with the Sublideck?
All mechanical parts are guaranteed for 12 months. The silicone rubber membrane is available as a spare part which is fitted and checked before leaving the factory against flaws
With the Sublideck using infrared do I need to wear eye protection glasses?
Eye protection should not be necessary as all the IR lamps are enclosed
Do I need a stock of consumables to keep the Sublideck in operation?
As well as the usual inks and paper consumables it would make sense to have a repair kit in case you puncture the membrane on a sharp object. Repairing the membrane is simply like repairing an inner tube of a bike tire
What is the maximum height of products for the Sublideck?
We have designed the heater hood to be height adjustable so items up to 4inches (100mm) can be sublimated
I have a product that softens and flattens if I use too much pressure. Is the pressure of the Sublideck adjustable?
The amount of vacuum required is set with a simple regulator using the vacuum controller
Is the Sublideck process patented?
As a professional company we respect the intellectual property rights of others as we expect them to respect ours and as such we have a license agreement in place with the original inventors of the 3D process. Our license agreement allows us to fully prosecute any infringement of the process should we wish to do so
I may require a custom machine for my particular product can this be done?
Yes, we are currently building a larger range of presses which we expect to be ready 2nd quarter 2010 and are currently building custom machines for large OEM’s, whatever you require we can deliver
